Attorney-at-law, of counsel at Knut Mazurczak Adwokaci and partner at Wach Pawliczak law firm. Member of the Warsaw Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law. Assistant professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. He graduated from the University of Warsaw and Cardiff University Law School.
In 2015 he qualified as an attorney-at-law. His previous legal experience includes working as a senior judicial clerk at the Polish Constitutional Tribunal, assistant to the Polish Ombudsman and associate at an international law firm. He represents clients in family and civil court disputes, provides legal advice, assists in inheritance planning, prepares legal opinions and bills of law. He provides expert legal advice in precedential and international cases.
So far Jakub Pawliczak, PhD represented his clients in:
– dozens of family and inheritance cases, such as proceedings for divorce, alimony, contact concerning children, international child abduction, division of matrimonial property and inheritance, confirmation of the acquisition of the succession, financial settlements of partnership relations;
– proceedings for the recognition of foreign judgments and decisions.
Jakub cooperates with civil society organizations. He prepared the first Polish bill aimed at introducing marriage equality as the rapporteur of the legal group, established by the ‘Love Does Not Exclude’ Association. He also wrote a legal opinion on the admissibility of institutionalizing same-sex partnerships for the Polish Society of Anti-Discrimination Law.
Speaker at numerous legal conferences. Since 2010, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, he conducts lectures and tutorials in the field of civil and family law. He is the supervisor of the Scientific Circle of Family and Inheritance Law. Since 2019, he teaches the practical aspects of family and inheritance law at the legal apprenticeship at the Warsaw Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law.
He is fluent in English.
The author of numerous articles published in influential international (incl. ‘European Journal of Health Law’) and Polish (incl. ‘the State and the Law’, ‘the Court Review’) legal journals.

– The co-author of the leading commentary to the Polish Family and Guardianship Code.
In 2014, he won the Second Prize in ‘the State and the Law’ National Competition for the Best Doctoral Dissertations with his thesis, entitled ‘Registered partnership in comparison with marriage in civil law’.
